Summer Symposium on Sustainable Systems (4S) on Harmonizing Policy, Technology, Product Design and Resource Management

The Aalto University invites you to the Summer Symposium on Sustainable
Systems (4S) on Harmonizing Policy, Technology, Product Design and
Resource Management

The 4S which will take place in Sannäs, Finland on June 15-17,2010.

The aim of the symposium is to bring together researchers and high level
keynote speakers with an common interest in interdisciplinary systemic
approaches to complex issues under the theme of closed-loop sustainable
material systems.

Researchers working on their PhD thesis or post doctoral activities are
encouraged to apply. Selection of participants will be made by the
scientific steering committee. All PhD candidates and post docs that are
interested and are involved with studies in 4S topics are encouraged to
apply.

The symposium will be in form of workshop and one of our main goals is to
establish an international and interdisciplinary network of researchers
with sustainability as research interest. Our goal is to create the novel,
innovative, and interdisciplinary forum that is needed to move towards
sustainable use of natural resources.

The deadline for abstracts is March 1, 2010.

SCHOLARSHIPS :
The successful applicants are granted a scholarship which covers
participation fee, full symposium program, full board and symposium
materials. Travelling costs to- and from Helsinki are not included into
scholarship, but to be funded by each participant themselves.
